At The Old Stag we take great pride in serving great fresh food using the best of local ingredients and some from further afar. Our award winning menu is freshly cooked by a team of chefs headed by owner Darryl Flynn. Our food has been featured on BBC one six o'clock news as well as S4C, Radio Wales and various guide books.
From our menu at The Old Stag you can choose from great starters such as Stone baked garlic bread topped with mozzarella and caremlised shallots, baked camembert drizzled with garlic and rosemary oil or our ever popular boozy mushrooms. Mains consist of homemade tradditional pub fayre such as pie of the day served with real chips and cider briaised red cabbage, beer battered fish and chips and curry of the day served with rice with popadoms. You can choose 28 day aged , sirloin or rump off our chargrill section or try one of our stone baked pizzas  (recently voted the best in Wales and the North of England by the Pizza and Pasta awards 2011) made to order and cooked in our Pizza oven imported from Italy from our pizza section.
We also offer our hanging espetada kebabs which range from lamb rump marinated in garlic, thyme and balsamic vinegar to swwet chilli hallumi.
Our vegan and vegetarian selections include vegan shepherds pie with bubble and squek topping, award wininning moving mountains vegan burger and chickpea and sweet potato curry
We also offer a range of daily fish, meat and game specials depending on the season and are displayed on the blackboards in our pub.There is a large choice of delicious desserts to choose from which include a selection of ice cream sundaes and finish your meal with a selection of liquor coffees or malt whiskies

Sunday Roast
Every Sunday we run a roast menu alongside our regular menu. The menu changes each week with a choice of five starters, , six main courses and four desserts. There is always locally reared topside of beef, shoulder of pork with crackling and 1/2 roast chicken. Roast leg of lamb is available in season and there is always a fish and vegetarian option. All these are served with rosemary roasted potatoes, buttered new potatoes, three types of seasonal vegatables ,homemade yorkshire puddings and rich gravy

Try the menu everyones talking about. Choose from one of five dishes off our menu including a daily special between 5.30pm-6.30pm, Monday to Thursday and what ever time you eat that is what you pay. For example you eat at 6.15pm then you pay £6.15. The earlier you eat the less you pay!!

At The Old Stag we offer two childrens menus ,one for under 7s and one for under 12s. They offer a selection of pasta's, fish goujons , pizzas, southern breaded chicken fillets and vegetarian options. All meals come with a selected free dessert
